Moments of Parmigianino
Parmigianino is one of the clearest examples of Mannerist painting: stylized figures, fanciful proportions in search of grace and elegance, complicated poses that highlight the virtuosity of the artist, and a palette of bright, unnatural colors. Works of great beauty and elegance that left behind the simplicity and naturalness of the Renaissance and approached the artifice, sophistication, and theatricality of the Baroque.
