Moments of Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec

 

1881. Margot. In 1881, he settled in Paris to devote himself to painting.

1882. Party in the Country. In his early work, we can see the influence of Impressionism, which he later abandoned to start painting closed, nocturnal, artificially lit environments.

1886. Portrait of Émile Bernard. In 1884, he settled in the Montmartre district. There, he became the painter who documented an entire era (the Belle Époque), with its nights of cabarets, dances, high society, and bohemian artists.
