Fundamental Painters of Fauvism

This is a list of the most outstanding and representative painters of Fauvism, the first avant-garde movement of the 20th century. Although it extended from the first years of the century until 1908, its members only began to be called "fauves" (wild beasts) in the exhibition of the Salon d'Automne of 1905. They were indeed called in a derogatory way at first and then with admiration due to the wild colors they used in their works.

This is a dynamic list since we will be adding more artists and more information to it over time.
