Six paintings. One concept

In these paintings, Cézanne treats bodies as volumes, as we can see in the lack of detail and abstraction. He does not care about reproducing nature as it is seen, but how to structure the space. The groups of bathers are so functional for the composition that he never abandoned the theme and returned to it from time to time throughout the decades.
This use of bodies as volumes and geometrization (perceivable here but even more noticeable in his still lifes and landscapes) had a decisive influence on the birth of Cubism.
