1907. Harbor of Trieste. In 1906, (16 years old) he entered the Academy of Fine Arts of Vienna. In 1907, he met Klimt who influenced him greatly.

1910. Self-Portrait with Arm Twisting above Head. His paintings moved from Art Nouveau style into Expressionism, his favorite themes were erotic nudity and his provocative, stark self-portraits (presented in a crude, brutal way).
