Magritte is not so interested in showing us his universe, but he wants us to doubt about ours, he invites us to rediscover it.
His work challenges us not to take anything for granted, not to naturalize beauty or the small miracles of everyday life. It helps us to recover our astonishment, our capacity to admire.
And the first step to start looking differently is to doubt everything we are used to look at.
Magritte questions reality. He uses an absurd logic and thus provokes us to think that everything that seems normal to us, maybe it is not so normal. Maybe it is something more magical than normal.
