Jeanne Hébuterne, painter

Six Paintings, One Concept

We could make this publication thanks to small donations. How is 3 minutos de arte supported?

Jeanne Hébuterne met Modigliani when she was 19 and lived with him until he died, when she was 22 years old. Two years later, she killed herself.

Jeanne was very skilled at drawing and attended the Académie Colarossi in Paris with her brother. And, beyond her role as a model (Modigliani portrayed her more than 20 times, and her portraits are among the artist's best known), and beyond her roles as a partner and mother of the painter's daughter, she was significantly talented, as seen in the work she produced at such a young age.

We remember her for her beauty and her love. But she had a career ahead as an artist.
